Rangers want to escape fan fury with Morelos-Porto deal

Rangers have realised that if they sell Alfredo Morelos to Porto this summer they will have to agree a deal that doesn’t infuriate fans, according to A Bola.

The Portuguese news outlet has covered on their website some of the outrage that was caused when the Gers reportedly received an offer for the 25-year-old striker.

A Bola quotes some Gers fans as calling a bid worth £10.2million, plus a 20 per cent sell-on clause, as “insulting” and “ridiculous”.

How much will keep fans happy?

No matter what, not everyone is going to be happy if Morelos leaves this summer.

You’ll still get some people claiming that the Gers haven’t received enough for the Colombia international but in truth, we think that £20million should be the marker Rangers set.

Last summer, the Gers reportedly rejected a £16million bid from Lille [Mail] for Morelos so you would think that after winning the league and making himself a Champions League player, he’d be worth more than that.

According to The Athletic, £15million would be enough to prise Morelos away from Ibrox. Some fans might not be happy with that and in truth, we think Porto would be getting a bargain at that price.

But as long as it’s the £10.2million that Calcio Pillole journalist Ekrem Konur  has reported, with him saying Porto have had their bid of that much rejected.

Rangers will have to worry about a fan reaction to any sales this summer but they won’t be swayed by us Bears, that’s for sure.

In other Rangers news, this star player has dropped a hint he wants to quit at Ibrox.
