Rangers contact IFK Goteborg for midfielder Alhassan Yusuf

Rangers have contacted IFK Goteborg for midfielder Alhassan Yusuf, according to ScoreNigeria journalist Samm Audu.

The respected media veteran represents his country during Ballon d’Or votes [France Football (via AS)] and has claimed that newly-promoted Premier League side Brentford are also keen on the 20-year-old.

The Swedish top-flight outfit want around £3.4million for Yusuf, but he has just a year left on his deal, and that could work in Rangers favour.

Solid player

The youngster is not popular in Nigeria having not represented the country at any level internationally so far, but he has established himself as a force to reckon with in the Allsvenskan, emerging as the newcomer of the year in 2019.

Rangers need quality additions this summer if we are to retain the Premiership title and go far in Europe, and Yusuf could prove to be a quality addition.

He has been linked with the likes of Wolverhampton Wanderers, Sheffield United and Club Brugge [ScoreNigeria], and that is testament to his budding talents.

While Gothenburg narrowly escaped the drop last term, Yusuf was one of their best players, featuring in 29 games, and we could be landing a midfield powerhouse with a lot of potential for a decent fee in today’s market.

Glen Kamara was bought for just £50,000 and is comfortably currently worth 100 times that fee a couple of years on [TransferMarkt].

Alfredo Morelos cost just above £1million and is now valued at around £20million [Daily Record], and Rangers could have identified another potential money-maker in the former FC Hearts Nigeria star.

In other Rangers news, Bruno Alves has tipped Light Blues for a record-breaking summer deal.
