Steven Gerrard: Rangers set to announce new signing soon
Steven Gerrard has hinted that Rangers could be set to seal another signing in the coming days as the window heats up.
The Bears boss admitted that Ross Wilson and his team have been working hard, and an announcement could be made soon.
After sealing title number 55 last season, Gerrard will want to build on that success and also catch the eye in the Champions League.
Speaking to RangersTV this week, Gerrard hinted that the Bears could be about the add to their squad.
“The board and Ross know the players I want to strengthen us and make us better and give us the best chance to be successful next season,” he said.
“Hopefully we can go and deliver them. We’re really close on one piece and hopefully in the coming days we’ll have an announcement for the fans.”
This is the news that we have definitely been waiting for, but it leaves us scratching our heads on who it could be.
Nnamdi Ofoborh and Fashion Sakala are technically still new arrivals at Ibrox, and it looks as though there will be another new face at pre-season testing.
With strong rumours surrounding the future of Alfredo Morelos and a potential move to Porto, it could be another forward.
The Bears would get ahead of the curve if they don’t expect the Colombian back in Glasgow after the COPA America, and it would be a smart move.
Gerrard and Wilson have both been excellent with their transfer business in the past three years, and have always been effective.
This is another example of that, and we will be sat refreshing our social channels waiting for this announcement to happen, barring any last-minute hitches that it.
