Glenn Middleton has Rangers future despite loan move set
Rangers winger Glenn Middleton is set to seal yet another loan move away from Ibrox this week.
The Scottish Sun has reported that another temporary switch to St Johnstone is on the cards, where he spent last season with Callum Davidson.
Steven Gerrard couldn’t find room for the young winger in Glasgow and will send him out for more experience.
Despite that, it looks as though he still has a future with the Bears.
The Glasgow Times have reported that Gerrard still rates Middleton highly and has plans for his future at Ibrox.
It is suggested that with all eyes set on retaining the Scottish Premiership next season, young players won’t just be handed minutes here and there.
Fashion Sakala has been added to the mix this summer, and the attacker may well have sealed the immediate future of players such as Middleton and Josh McPake.
All eyes on.
Middleton will be even more determined to catch the eye next season, and this is the perfect move for him to do just that.
The winger will be comfortable at st Johnstone having been there recently, and will be raring to straight back into the action.
We all remember that free-kick at Hampden in the Scottish Cup semi-finals last season, and that is the quality we need on a weekly basis.
If Middleton can bring that consistently next season, Gerrard will be watching very closely and keeping his options open.
We predict a bigger future for Middleton than McPake, but that will be likely decided across the next year of action.
