Tam McManus reacts as Alex Lowry confirms new Rangers deal

Rangers announced a number of new contract deals on Wednesday as they continued their plans for the future.

The Bears also released the likes of Greg Stewart, as they extended the deal of Jermain Defoe at Ibrox.

Among those were a number of youngsters, with exciting talent Alex Lowry putting pen-to-paper on an extra two years in Glasgow.

After signing the deal, Lowry took to his personal Twitter account to inform his followers his future was resolved for now.

“Delighted to sign a two-year extension,” he wrote.

Among those to like the tweet was controversial pundit Tam McManus, who has made it clear he isn’t afraid to go against the Bears.

Lowry is among those who will likely leave on loan during this two-year stint, and then push for the first-team towards the end of that.

We have seen the likes of Leon King and Nathan Patterson break into the first team in the past year, and that is perfect motivation.

The 17-year-old has shined in midfield and will be looking to make his name in the reserve squad this year if a move isn’t sorted.

With international youth experience for Scotland also on his resume, there will be many eyes on his progression through the ranks.

There is nothing more rewarding than seeing one of your own making the jump onto the scene, and Steven Gerrard will be watching one of his midfield sensations very closely.

Who knows? If it is another dominant year ahead, the likes of Lowry could be given their first-team chance sooner rather than later, it is certainly possible.
