Rangers listed as potential destination for Billy Gilmour - report

Rangers have been listed as a potential destination for Chelsea midfielder Billy Gilmour next season by the Daily Record.

The Scottish Sun has reported this week that the 19-year-old is considering a loan move to earn more minutes next season.

The outlet has suggested that the Bears, along with Brentford, West Ham, Swansea and Vitesse are all potential moves he could make.

Writing in their live transfer blog this morning, the Daily Record claimed that the Bears have been linked with numerous midfielders already.

“Where it all started for the 19-year-old,” they wrote.

“Steven Gerrard’s side have been linked to plenty of midfielders already this window.”

Should Thomas Tuchel open the door for Gilmour to leave Stamford Bridge, returning to Glasgow would be the perfect choice.

With the Bears back in the Champions League next season, the young midfielder would arrive with a medal in his back pocket after that success against Manchester City.

Steven Gerrard would also be a coach that Tuchel would love to send his younger talents too, there is no better mentor with Premier League experience than our gaffer.

The 19-year-old has been playing in the Champions League and the Premier League sparingly, and a full season of playing every week could be hugely benefitial.

Whether Gilmour would replace Steven Davis or Glen Kamara is another headache to consider, but we would predict that this one is unlikely – especially given he is linked every single window.
