Report: Kevin Thomson set for Rangers exit to take charge at Kelty Hearts

Rangers will be set for a reshuffle at Ibrox this week as Kevin Thomson has agreed to take charge at Kelty Hearts.

Barry Ferguson has left the Lowland League Champions this week, and the new Scottish Football League club have targeted another Bears figure.

Daily Record have reported the major update, with our B team manager Thomson set to leave his post at Auchenhowie.

Thomson is highly rated at Rangers, and this won’t be the easiest news to swallow.

The former player has had his coaching role with the Bears since 2019 and has been progressing the under-18s immensely.

After two years, Thomson will take up his first senior professional management role have gone through the academy ranks.

Steven Gerrard will want to fill the void left quickly.

The former Liverpool man has a trusted team with the likes of Michael Beale and Gary McAllister, and he needs those below him who can act as the perfect advisor.

Nathan Patterson has shown that there is a clear pathway through to the first team, and there will be players currently without a manager itching to prove themselves.

Leon King is another defender, and Thomson will have played a vital part in his progression into this title-winning side to his debut in the past season.

Thomson has served his time at Ibrox and Auchenhowie, and we wish him all the best moving onto Kelty Hearts and following in the footsteps of Ferguson.
