Rangers want to sign Oli McBurnie after Sheffield United relegation - report

Rangers are plotting a big summer move for Sheffield United forward Oli Mcburnie, according to the Daily Mail.

The newspaper have reported on their website that the Blades’ relegation from the Premier League has opened the door to a big switch.

It is suggested that it may take £15million to bring the Scottish international to Ibrox, who is currently injured and missing EURO 2021.

The 24-year-old has always been a huge Rangers fan.

Back in April 2020, McBurnie revealed he would love to play under Steven Gerrard at Ibrox, which would make the move quite straightforward [Daily Record].

McBurnie would jump at the chance to move to Glasgow, just imagine him in the Old Firm games against Celtic.

Him and Alfredo Morelos could be in the nightmares of our fierce rivals for many years to come, and we would love to see that consistently.

This again.

Sheffield United’s relegation has opened the door to this one again.

It appears as though this is the story and link that will never disappear, even though £15million could be far too high.

The Premier League made it too much of a bridge to cross, but the added revenues of the Champions League could make this one possible.

McBurnie struggled in the top-flight of English football, and this could be the perfect opportunity to kickstart his career once again.

Gerrard is already making his moves to improve the squad, and McBurnie could be the next to follow Fashion Sakala and Nnamdi Ofoborh through the door.
