Rangers fans have hit out at the idea of signing Oli McBurnie from Sheffield United after the Scotland striker was linked with a move to Ibrox.

According to the Daily Mail, the Gers are pursuing a £15million swoop to sign the 24-year-old this summer with the forward set to quit Bramall Lane.

However, Rangers fans are understandably dead against the idea of signing McBurnie – especially for that much money.

The goal-shy striker is yet to score in 17 caps for Scotland and netted just once in 23 English Premier League appearances as Sheffield United were relegated this season.

While he might find it easier to score in the Scottish Premiership, there’s absolutely no way he’s better than what we’ve got already and our Rangers Super Fans have made that clear.

Here is what they had to say:

One of the Super Fans called McBurnie “overrated” – but who actually rates the ex-Swansea striker?

McBurnie’s had a poor couple of years with Sheffield United, scoring just seven goals for them since a £20million move to South Yorkshire.

Yes, £20million.

Since then he’s struggled to hit a barn door with a banjo and is definitely way better suited to the English Championship than the Scottish top-flight.

If we sign him then we’ll lose some respect for Steven Gerrard and Ross Wilson for the job they’re doing.

However, we have full faith they won’t do that.
