Steven Gerrard hints at Rangers transfers to deal with new competition

Steven Gerrard has teased imminent arrivals at Rangers after he started his reign of dominance last season in the Scottish Premiership.

The Bears brought home their 55th league title and went through the entire season undefeated, but did fail in the domestic cups.

Gerrard has hinted that there could be new arrivals coming through the door in Glasgow in the next handful of weeks.

Speaking at the LMA Manager Awards, live on Sky Sports’ YouTube channel, Gerrard admitted that he needs reinforcements with the competition set to rise.

“We know that the league will be tougher next season,” he said.

“We need to be ready for what is coming our way, so that’s the way it always is, you can never stand still.

For me now, the recruitment over the coming weeks and months is just as important as the previous windows, because we have to be ready for all the challenges.”

Exciting.

Once the season is all over, all eyes turn to transfers.

This summer may be hard for clubs to conduct their business with the European Championships taking place through June and July.

Gerrard and Rangers may have taken this into account, and are looking to get their business done ahead of the international mayhem.

Fashion Sakala and Nnamdi Ofoborh are already expected through the door ahead of pre-season in Glasgow, and it appears as though there could be more.

We are hoping for another full-back on the left, and more cover for midfield, with injuries to the likes of Ryan Jack and Scott Arfield picking up injuries.

Keep your eyes peeled, this is a major hint we will be busy.
