Rangers-linked Siriki Dembele could be transfer-listed by Peterborough
Rangers could have been handed the perfect chance to sign previous target Peterborough winger Siriki Dembele.
It has been reported by the Peterborough Telegraph that contract talks have yet to be held between both parties, and that could lead to him being placed up for sale.
The 24-year-old has been pivotal to his club’s promotion to the Championship, scoring 11 goals and adding 12 assists in his 42 appearances.
Rangers and Celtic have previously been linked with a £2million switch for the attacking sensation in the previous winter window.
Ibrox scouts had been watching the 24-year-old consistently at that time, although it is unknown whether or not their interest has continued.
It will be interesting to see what moves are made, with it hard to improve a side even further that have already gone unbeaten in their previous league campaign.
With the arrival of Fashion Sakala imminent from Oostende, it appears highly unlikely that another attacker or winger will be signed this summer.
It would take someone leaving for that to happen.
Who knows though? If Dembele is transfer listed with only one year left on his contract, Steven Gerrard may be tempted to make the switch happen for a cut price.
Jonson Clarke-Harris is another potential signing from Peterborough, with Darren Ferguson clearly on edge as his best players could be poached regardless of promotion.
Dembele has produced serious numbers in League One, just as Joe Aribo did with Charlton before his move north of the border, although this may not be a priority.
We need midfielders to help the likes of Steven Davis, not another attacker to add to our shark pool in the final third.
