Alex McLeish makes exciting prediction for Ianis Hagi after award - Exclusive
We’re delighted to welcome former Rangers manager Alex McLeish as our exclusive columnist. Each week he’ll be giving his views on the biggest talking points at Ibrox…
Alex McLeish has backed Rangers playmaker Ianis Hagi to get even better after winning the Young Player of the Year award.
The Romanian international took home the accolade ahead of the likes of Nathan Patterson, after another brilliant year under Steven Gerrard.
McLeish has insisted that Hagi can improve once again, and produce similar levels of performance to the likes of Ryan Kent.
Speaking exclusively to Ibrox News, McLeish said, “I think Hagi is a worthy winner.
“Again, there was doubt, but to come to Rangers and produce some magic moments as a young player in Europa and in Scotland then for me, it’s always lovely to see.
“He must have great motivation to be able to get to another level, the way Ryan Kent has done.”
Should Hagi be as consistent as Kent in terms of excitement next season, we could be in for a real treat at Ibrox as the fans return.
The 22-year-old was actually involved in the same number of goals as the winger last season, showing just how well he performed.
Kent did start 12 more games for the Bears too, showing just how impressive it was for Hagi to return those types of numbers.
McLeish is predicting more magic next season as we defend our title, and it is up to us to sit back with our popcorn and enjoy the show.
