Scott Brown issues final Old Firm jibe at Rangers after Celtic farewell
Scott Brown couldn’t resist one final dig at undefeated Scottish Premiership champions Rangers as he ended his Celtic career with a 0-0 draw at Hibernian.
The experienced Scottish midfielder brought down the curtain on his Hoops career at Easter Road on Saturday after 14 years at the club, with a move to Aberdeen next on his agenda.
Brown has been a long-time adversary of the Light Blues over the years with his on-pitch Old Firm tussles often spilling over into the media with a series of barbs aimed at his Glasgow rivals.
“I’d rather be in my situation than anybody else’s,” he said.
“We’ve gone proper invincible throughout the whole season.
“We’ve done treble after treble after treble and it’s not easy, it does take its toll on everyone’s body and that’s what’s happened this year.
“We’ve given everything we could and we’ve just not managed to get that 10.”

Bowed out with his head firmly down
This was the exit of nightmares for Brown.
The Hoops skipper couldn’t have imagined his final campaign at Celtic going any worse after his dreams of 10 titles in a row were dashed by a resurgent Rangers side.
Not only have we trounced our Old Firm rivals this season, winning four and drawing one of our five encounters, but we have also earned the tag of Invincibles are going undefeated in the 2020/21 Scottish Premiership season.
That was wrapped up on Saturday afternoon after a 4-0 win over Aberdeen, Brown’s next destination.
Meanwhile Brown was labouring to a 0-0 against Hibernian and his bitter swipe at us at the end was indicative of how far he and his side have fallen.
They might have swept the rest of Scotland aside while we were making our way back from financial issues, but we have finally knocked them off their mantle, and they just can’t take it.
Goodbye Brown, you won’t be missed in the Old Firms.
