Rangers confirmed XI vs Aberdeen: Tavernier eyes rare record as Gers look to finish unbeaten

Rangers will be looking to bow out unbeaten and on a high when they square off against Aberdeen in their final game of the season.

James Tavernier, who is level with teammates Alfredo Morelos and Kemar Roofe with 13 goals, would have the opportunity to go clear today should he find the back of the net.

The Gers captain starts at right-back while the versatile Joe Aribo will play on the other side. Allan McGregor retains his place in goal.

In central defence, Jack Simpson and Connor Goldson have looked solid since February and they start ahead of a midfield that comprises of Steven Davis, Glen Kamara and 22-year-old Ianis Hagi.

Leading the line would be Alfredo Morelos who could be playing his last game for the club. Flanking him on either side will be Ryan Kent and Kemar Roofe.

Gers are just 90 minutes away from an Invincibles season.

Securing at least a draw against Aberdeen will also see the Gers reach the 100-point barrier in the top-flight for the first time in their 149-year history.

At full-time, Rangers will also be handed the trophy to commemorate what’s been an exceptional season under Steven Gerrard.

They shouldn’t suffer any challenges against an Aberdeen side that  11th league game of the season when they were narrowly beaten 1-0 at home to Hibernian on Wednesday.

The boys mustn’t get complacent because a place in the history books is up for grabs and this is one last hurdle we need to take to achieve our glory.
