Lewis Capaldi rubbishes claim that Rangers star Ryan Kent is better than James Forrest
Award-winning pop star Lewis Capaldi has rubbished claims that Rangers star Ryan Kent is better than Celtic’s James Forrest.
Capaldi is one of the most famous faces in Scotland after rising to prominence in 2019 and winning ‘Best New Artist’ and ‘Song of the Year’ at the BRIT Awards.
But he’s also a big Celtic fan who has made numerous attempts to wind up Gers supporters over the year.
His latest comments posted on Open Goal’s Twitter account are sure to add more fuel to the fire.
Ex-Hoops youth team player Paul Slane initiated the debate, saying, “This guy said Ryan Kent was better than James Forrest, wow. Does that make you sick?”
Capaldi replied, “Who said it? Who said it? [Andy Halliday] What a shock.”
“I also said Ryan Kent is the best player for Rangers in the last 25 years, the last two decades,” Halliday countered.

Has he been watching?
The fortunes of Kent and Forrest this season couldn’t be any starker.
Kent has scored nine goals and registered eight assists in 35 Scottish Premiership games to help inspire the Light Blues to domestic success, while the Celtic winger has just four goal involvements in 11 appearances during an injury-hit campaign for the Hoops.
Forrest will turn 30 in July while Kent’s 25th birthday is not until November.
The Gers star is younger and in better form so there’s no debate from our side on who is the better player.
We’re not sure if we’d go as far as to call him the best Ranges player over the last 25 years – that’s a huge claim by Halliday and we’d like to see him help us to a few more trophies before we agree – but he’s certainly been in phenomenal form for us.
