Journalist claims offers will come in for key Rangers trio this summer
Rangers could sell one of Alfredo Morelos, Borna Barisic or Glen Kamara this summer, says Daily Record journalist Scott McDermott.
Kamara has already attracted interest from Arsenal [Give Me Sport], while Morelos was strongly linked with an exit from Ibrox last summer.
McDermott expects offers to come in for the trio and suggests Kamara’s and Barisic’s value could be affected by the Euros – that is, if they do well their values should rise.
Appearing on the Record Rangers Podcast, he said, “The three big ones are Morelos, Kamara and Barisic. They will be the ones where bids will come in in the summer.
“Obviously Kamara and Barisic will go to the Euros and that could have an impact on their value, but I would expect at least one of those three to be sold on.
“It will then come down to Ross Wilson and the recruitment department to come up with replacements.”
Keep all three
It would be brilliant if all three of the players mentioned above stay at Ibrox.
The reality may be different however, but hopefully the club gets a say on who leaves, and finances do not influence the decision.
Even then it is difficult to decide who should leave, as all three are quality players.
Morelos would surely be the most difficult to replace though, even though we do have Kemar Roofe and new signing Fashion Sakala.
With that in mind, selling Kamara could be the best option.
He would liekly command a big fee, particularly if he does well at the Euros, and we have a number of superb midfielders already at the club.
The same cannot be said for left-back, a position where we lack depth.
Barisic has been brilliant in both defence and attack this season, with 14 assists in all competitions, so Wilson could find it difficult to replace him too.
