Alan Brazil and Ally McCoist clash over referee in Rangers 4-1 win v Celtic
Celtic-crazy pundit Alan Brazil pointed the finger at the officials after Rangers outclassed Celtic 4-1 at Ibrox on Sunday afternoon.
Callum McGregor was sent off for the visitors midway through the first half for a second yellow card picked up during Kemar Roofe’s opener.
There didn’t seem to be much wrongdoing from referee Nick Walsh in his first Old Firm clash but speaking on talkSPORT Breakfast [06:00, 03/05/21] Brazil and ex-Gers striker Ally McCoist clashed over the official.
“As soon as I saw ten men again I went for a walk,” Brazil said.
McCoist hit back: “You should discipline your players and tell them not to go in recklessly and they’ll stay on the park Alan, that’s how it works son. We battered you again.”
Brazil: “Referees have got their own Rangers Supporters Club, haven’t they?”
McCoist: “You’ve got problems boy, I’m telling you right now.”
They’ll do anything to drag away from the real abomination that was their performance at Ibrox.
Celtic were second-best throughout, as they have been all season.
That’s now 36 Scottish Premiership matches unbeaten for us while we are also undefeated in five Old Firm clashes, four of which we have won.
The difference in levels between our clubs have been stark all season, and no referee is to blame for that.
Maybe Brazil’s comments were just tongue in cheek as he seeks to come to terms with his side’s shocking state they currently find themselves in, but he’s clawing in desperation if he really thinks the referee had anything to do with their crushing defeat on Sunday.
That’s their second red card of the season against us while we have zero.
They’ve lost their heads and we’ve kept ours, it’s been the script for the whole season.
