Rangers forward Kemar Roofe handed ban and club fined by UEFA
Rangers forward Kemar Roofe has been handed a fresh ban from UEFA after the Europa League clash against Slavia Praha.
The striker was sent off after hitting Ondrej Kolar with a high boot, although it was an accidental clash, it did cause severe damage.
Roofe has now been hit with a four-match European ban, as well as the Bears being fined £7,800, which has been reported by the Daily Record.
The collision has been described as assault and improper conduct, leading to a severe punishment from the governing body.
Kolar has broken his silence again recently, admitting that the Bears star hasn’t apologised for the incident that happened weeks ago at Ibrox.
The Czech stopper claimed that he has also been receiving hate from the Light Blue faithful, something which did sound awful if true.
Kudela next.
This isn’t the only incident that needs investigating, with Ondrej Kudela still being allowed to play his football around Europe with no punishments.
The Czech international was accused of racially abusing Glen Kamara, and although proceedings have been opened, there has been no conclusion as of yet.
If this accidental collision leads to a four-match European ban, the one-year suspension that has been suggested for Kudela would be more than fair.
This four-match ban will mean that Roofe will miss our qualifiers for the Champions League next season, and may not feature until the Group Stages if we get there.
Steven Gerrard will hopefully have the likes of Alfredo Morelos to choose from, but Roofe will be gutted to miss them for an accidental challenge.
