Ally McCoist responds to video of Neil Lennon, labels it ‘disgrace’
Rangers legend Ally McCoist has labelled a surfaced video of Neil Lennon drunk as a “disgrace” as it has sparked mass abuse online.
The former Celtic man is clearly worst for wear and has been taken advantage of as he is basically looking for someone to help him out of this situation.
McCoist claimed it was a massive invasion of his privacy after business’ finally opened after being closed due to COVID-19 protocols this week.
Speaking on talkSPORT via the Daily Record, McCoist shared that incidents like this shouldn’t be allowed as the video gets shared online.
“It shouldn’t be allowed, it simply shouldn’t be allowed,” he said.
“It’s a complete and utter invasion of his privacy. It’s as simple as that. And by the way, there but for the grace of God. I have been worse for wear with alcohol and it looks as though that’s been the case with Neil here.
“I have been there so I’m not going to preach to anybody about it but what I will say is I think the invasion of his privacy is a disgrace.”
Rivalries aside.
There are some things that go further than the rivalries on the pitch, and this is clearly a man who is looking for help, and someone has taken advantage of that.
We are all ready to joke and laugh with each other, but when it goes too far, that is hard to watch, and this video is exactly that.
As we prepare for two huge Old Firm games in the next month, it is important that we keep this rivalry on the pitch as we push for the domestic double.
Lennon won’t be involved in those matches, and we have to let him move on from this moment in his life without the constant scrutiny that may follow him.
McCoist is spot on with this one.
