Rangers confirmed team news v Hibs

Steven Gerrard has made five changes to the Rangers starting line-up ahead of their clash against Hibernian at Ibrox on Sunday.

Ahead of kick-off in the Premiership clash, Rangers’ official Twitter account announced that Allan McGregor, Borna Barisic, Joe Aribo, Ryan Kent and Alfredo Morelos all return to the side after being rested against Cove Rangers last week.

Jon McLaughlin, Calvin Bassey, Scott Arfield, Jermain Defoe and attacker Scott Wright all drop out of the team that started in the Scottish Cup win.

Back to the league

It seems as though it’s been ages since Gerrard’s men last played in the league. Last time out, they drew 1-1 with Celtic at Parkhead on March 21.

Since then, the Light Blues have played – and beaten – Cove Rangers in the Scottish Cup to set up another Old Firm meeting in the next round of the competition.

Rangers

First up though is a testing clash against Hibernian, who will be looking to solidify their third-place spot in the league standings.

Hibs’ form has been mixed as of late with the Edinburgh club winning just one of their last four league outings.

As for Rangers, we don’t need to remind anyone how we’re still unbeaten in the top-flight and how we want to see that record preserved in the closing stages of the season.

With the title already wrapped up and nothing to play for except for going unbeaten in the league, we wouldn’t be devastated with a draw against the Hibees.

However, with a clash against Celtic up next in the Scottish Cup, it will be better to go into that in winning form so let’s hope Gerrard’s named a team that’s good enough to secure all three points in triumphant fashion this weekend.
