Clive Tyldesley says Alfredo Morelos was ‘moody’ against Hibernian

Rangers beat Hibernian 2-1 in a comfortable display at Ibrox on Sunday but Clive Tyldesley noticed Alfredo Morelos was out of sorts.

The striker did not get his usual service and Gers instead had to rely on goals from Joe Aribo and Ryan Kent to secure the win.

Morelos was substituted in the 72nd minute and Rangers TV commentator Tyldesley noticed he was not as happy as he has been recently.

Tyldesley said, “I saw pictures of him throwing stuff at James Tavernier here last weekend.

“[He was a] playful kid then, now a rather moody grown up.”

Keeping El Bufalo happy

Morelos has been superb this season so we can forgive him a bad performance or two, but we hope this does not become a trend.

Keeping his spirits high is crucial to success on the pitch – particularly next week when we take on Celtic in the Scottish Cup.

Beyond that, we have to make sure Morelos is happy at Ibrox otherwise he could push for a transfer.

Rangers

Steven Gerrard did well to persuade him to stay at the club when Lille made an approach last summer, but the 24-year-old could change his mind if things do not go his way.

And substituting him in a match when there are goals to be had is bound to frustrate the striker.

We trust Stevie G and his judgement on this occasion, and hopefully he notices what Tyldesley points out.

The striker may just have been frustrated at his own performance on Sunday, in which case he should look to bounce back with a bang in the Old Firm next week.
