Clive Tyldesley and Kevin Thomson rave about Ryan Kent after Hibs goal

Ryan Kent scored a wonderful goal that turned out to be the winner for Rangers in their 2-1 victory over Hibernian.

And Rangers TV commentators Clive Tyldesley and Kevin Thomson waxed lyrical about the strike and the winger when the ball struck the net.

Kent cut in onto his left foot and drove past a couple of defenders before unleashing a fierce drive into the bottom corner with great accuracy.

Tyldesley was blown away, saying, “It’s beautifully struck, what a goal that is, Ryan Kent, left foot right foot makes no difference to him. Fabulous hit on the run, the kind of goal that really lifts a performance.

“Big smiles, big goal from Ryan Kent.”

Thomson was in agreement, adding, “Absolutely sensational Clive, we’ve said it all through the afternoon, when he picks up that ball he brings a zip, an excitement.

“By God what a hit, right out of the top drawer…once he cuts inside he’s got one thing on his mind, fabulous goal by Ryan Kent.”

Big potential

Kent’s goal showed exactly what he is capable of and if he shows that finishing on a consistent basis he will be worth a lot of money.

It was a complete performance from the 24-year-old, who was given WhoScored’s man of the match award with a rating of 7.8.

It is easy to see why, as Kent completed two dribbles and had a pass accuracy of 86%.

Rangers lacked creativity against Hibs and struggled to break them down at times.

We needed a boost of pace and a bit of inspiration and Kent was on hand to provide both.

Now he needs to back up his goal and performance with another good display against Celtic next week.

He occasionally goes missing in big games so it is a great opportunity for him to assert himself as one of our most important players.

Another goal like his one on Sunday will be most welcome.

In other Rangers news, Tyldesley shared a worrying thing he noticed about a Gers ace against Hibs.
