Italian club Lazio want to sign Rangers playmaker Ianis Hagi at all costs in the upcoming summer, according to Sport.

Steven Gerrard doesn’t want to let the midfielder leave Ibrox after his standout season, with reports claiming their initial bid would be £8.6million.

The Romanian outlet have reported that Lazio are willing to increase their offer up to £11.2million after his breakthrough with the national side.

It is suggested that Gerrard wants to keep Hagi at Ibrox for the upcoming Champions League campaign next season.

The Bears will enter the competition at the qualifiers stage after winning the Scottish Premiership for the first time in a decade.

Hagi has been instrumental in that.

The 22-year-old has scored six goals and added a further nine assists in his 20 starts, and only James Tavernier has more goal involvements.

No chance.

Hagi has consistently been linked with an exit this summer, but all noise coming from Auchenhowie suggests that he will be going nowhere.

Michael Beale has recently labelled the playmaker as “fantastic” after he scored his first senior goal for Romania in an amazing win against North Macedonia.

Lazio have been in the Champions League this season but were blown away at the last stage by Bayern Munich in the round of 16.

The Italian side are currently only in the Europa League spots as it stands, and are four points behind Juventus in fourth place.

Hagi has a better chance of Champions League at Ibrox and is relishing the chance to keep improving under Gerrard moving forward.

In other Rangers news, this Bears loanee has suffered another injury away from Ibrox with surgery possibly required this season
