Michael Beale thrilled by Rangers ace Ianis Hagi after international moment

Michael Beale has singled out Rangers playmaker Ianis Hagi as one of the best talents he has worked with during his career.

The Romanian playmaker turned his initial loan move permanent last year and has leapt onto the senior international stage this season.

Beale shared a behind-the-scenes text with Hagi during this break after he found the back of the net for his country against North Macedonia.

Speaking to Rangers TV, Beale singled out just how special Hagi is having watched him develop at Ibrox since his move from Belgium.

“Ianis turned 22 back at the end of October and he has had a fantastic year, domestically and obviously now with the national team as well,” he said.

“I’m in a unique position, I’ve worked with a lot of top young players and I’d put Ianis right up there. He is two-footed, he works hard, he is a lovely young man.

“So, for me, to see his growth this year has been fantastic. To score for his national team, bearing in mind who his dad is and the career his dad had, it is a special moment for the family, so I had a little text with Ianis.”

Special.

It was a brilliant moment to watch Hagi sweep home the perfect finish for his country against Macedonia this week with the scores level in the final minutes.

Hagi has come up with the goods on numerous occasions already during his time at Ibrox, and this time it was finally his turn to show it on the international stage; following in his dad’s footsteps.

We all remember the 22-year-old firing in crucial goals against the likes of Braga in the Europa League last season, and these moments on the big stage are only going to make him better.

Having Steven Gerrard and Beale in his corner during training is only a positive, and something that will only make him better.

Given that we are all already in awe of Hagi, the prospect of him getting even better is scary for opposing teams in the future.
