UEFA open disciplinary proceedings against Glen Kamara & Ondrej Kudela
UEFA have opened disciplinary proceedings against Rangers and Slavia Praha duo Glen Kamara and Ondrej Kudela on Tuesday.
The Finland international has accused the defender of racial abuse, with Kudela and the Czech club accusing Kamara of assault after the game.
Kudela has therefore been suspended from the next round of the Europa League against Arsenal this week whilst the investigation continues.
Sky Sports journalist Bryan Swanson has shared the statement on his personal Twitter account, with a decision to come.
“New: UEFA opens disciplinary proceedings against Ondrej Kudela and Glen Kamara,” he wrote.
“Kudela has also been provisionally suspended for the next UEFA match.”
Provisionally?
Kudela being provisionally suspended for the tie against Arsenal on Thursday does suggest that this could be overturned.
With that in mind, a decision could be made as early as tomorrow before Slavia Praha make the trip to the Emirates Stadium in London.
The hammer needs to be dropped on Kudela with mounting pressure on UEFA to also take action. Enough is enough, and we can’t be dragged into another situation where a player gets let off lightly.
Slavia Praha have also made some serious allegations of assault, going as far as suggesting that the Bears covered up cameras in the tunnel.
Given that there is no evidence of that, compared to the mounting evidence against Kudela from players in his own squad, there can hopefully only be one outcome of this disciplinary proceeding.
