UEFA fail to release Rangers v Slavia report in time as Monday deadline passes

UEFA have missed the deadline to release their report into allegations made after Rangers’ game against Slavia Prague last month.

Allegations flew from both sides after the controversial Europa League second leg tie in March with Glen Kamara and Ondrej Kudela at the heart of the claims.

It is alleged that Kudela racially abused Kamara while Slavia claim the Rangers man assaulted Kudela in the tunnel after the game.

The footballing world is holding its breath to find out what UEFA make of these allegations and whether either side will be punished.

Last week, Slavia’s president said in a statement that UEFA had a deadline of April 5 (Monday) to publish their report.

This deadline has now passed with no word from UEFA, Slavia or Rangers.

In the statement, it was said that UEFA had already been given additional time to investigate the allegations so there is a chance that this has happened again.

This is clearly a very complicated case and UEFA should take as much time as they need to thoroughly investigate the claims.

The issue here perhaps lies with the Slavia president Jaroslav Tvrdik who was maybe not supposed to publically announce details of the investigation or even when it was meant to come out.

UEFA have been secretive about the issue, as is their right, but questions should be asked now that they have missed this deadline.

At the very least they should come out and say that Tvrdik’s statement was incorrect and April 5 was never a realistic deadline for these matters to be wrapped up.

Either way, we need answers or as close as we will get to answers with a UEFA investigation and we need them quickly.

Dragging out this drama is doing nothing to help the situation.

In other Rangers news, things have gone from bad to worse for this Gers signing after an alarming update from his loan club.
