UEFA set release date for investigation into Rangers v Slavia allegations

UEFA’s investigation into the allegations that were made between Rangers and Slavia Prague in their recent Europa League match is expected next week.

European football’s governing body has been looking at allegations of racism from Rangers and allegations of assault from Slavia.

This news came through a statement from Slavia Prague president Jaroslav Tvrdik as he took aim at the media for finding Ondrej Kudela guilty of racism before an investigation had been completed.

In a statement on Wednesday, Tvrdik shared details of UEFA’s investigation into the matters and even explained when we can expect the final verdict.

He said, “The UEFA Ethics and Disciplinary Inspector is still conducting an investigation regarding the incidents in question and has been granted additional time until 5 April 2021 to deliver his report.”

This means we may have mere days left to wait until we discover what UEFA have found after the terrible events of a few weeks ago.

What’s interesting is that Tvrdik has shared that the investigator has been granted additional time to deliver his report.

This could mean that there is so much evidence to go through that the usual timescale for completing an investigation like this simply wasn’t realistic in this case.

Admittedly, there is a lot to unpack here as allegations continued to flow in the days following the controversial clash at Ibrox.

We just want this to end.

It feels like this whole debacle has been going on for months not weeks and we can only imagine how Kamara feels as he’s forced to live with unanswered questions from that fateful night.

April 5 is next Monday which means we can hopefully start the week off by writing about how Rangers have received justice and Slavia have been punished for their conduct both on and off the pitch.

The world will be watching to see what UEFA’s verdict will be.

In other Rangers news, ex-Celtic man Tony Watt has hit out at Slavia Prague over their latest statement.
