Sinclair and Jordan clash after Jim White poses UEFA question about Kamara incident

Trevor Sinclair and Simon Jordan clashed over the Rangers racism incident after Jim White posed a question about UEFA’s handling of the Kamara affair.

Aamer Anwar, Kamara’s lawyer, spoke about the midfielder’s feelings towards the incident, explaining the Kamara views his alleged racist abuse as something UEFA and wider society needs to deal with.

White commented on the investigation taking place and asked Sinclair for his views on how the matter has been handled.

On talkSPORT’s White & Jordan show, White asked, “[UEFA] have a sufficiency of evidence now in order to charge Ondrej Kudela, does this please you? They have their teeth into this and they’re not going to let go.”

Sinclair replied, “It does because I think the lack of action and the poor fines which UEFA have given out for things like this is not acceptable.

“It’s a human rights issue…his teammate Zungu heard it, his character seems sound…this is not crying wolf.”

Jordan then stepped in to query Sinclair’s assertion, asking, “When have UEFA had to deal with a player racially abusing another player on the strength of allegation like this? To assume they won’t deal with it is an assumption.

Sinclair quickly answered, “QPR Under-18s about three years ago.”

“That’s not UEFA, it’s FA,” Jordan hit back.

Sinclair refused to back down, stating, “No it’s UEFA and FIFA, Les Ferdinand has categorically come on here and said he has gone through the right channels to complain about the racism these young boys received.”

Jordan overlooked that comment, and concluded, “I’ve never heard of a player [accused of racism against another player] being brought in front of UEFA and a sanction being so weak.”

UEFA investigation

The two pundits both raised some interesting points in their exchange.

Jordan is determined for assumption to be ruled out and for the facts to be addressed, and surely this investigation will make sure everything comes to light.

White also mentioned afterwards that a number of individuals have been interviewed and that should mean witnesses such as Bongani Zungu and Slavia Prague’s Simon Deli come forward.

UEFA do appear to be taking this incident seriously and Anwar, Kamara’s lawyer, is fighting his client’s corner well.

Anwar also mentioned on the show that the SFA is holding a meeting on Wednesday to address the issue of racial abuse, with the Kamara-Kudela incident the main focus.

It is good to see progress being made and for Kamara and others to be listened to.

We only hope that justice does get done and this sorry episode is put to rest.

In other Rangers news, a Slavia Prague chief has made an extraordinary claim that hints at a Gers conspiracy.
