View: Unbelievable – New manager comments on Kudela a fresh punch to the gut for Gers & Kamara
It seems pretty clear to absolutely everyone that something very bad happened in the clash between Ondrej Kudela and Rangers star Glen Kamara in the Europa League clash at Ibrox.
To everyone that is apart from those at Slavia Prague and the Czech Republic national side.
Kudela has been backed by his club but also by Czech Republic manager Jaroslav Silhavy.
Kudela played 90 minutes in the 6-2 win against Estonia last night and Silhavy made a case of publicly backing his player.
As quoted in the Scottish Sun he said, “I have spoken to Ondrej and I stand fully behind him. He is focused on the international duties that await us this week.
“What happened in Scotland has had no impact on him, and won’t jeopardise his place in the squad.
“It’s not as if he will be thinking about what happened and not concentrating. Ondrej’s experienced enough to handle it.”
Silhavy also said that he would play Kudela in the Euro 2020 showdown against Scotland, although that might not be quite as straightforward.
Kudela is set to face police questioning if he travels to Britain to face Arsenal in the next round of the Europa League.
Given all of this, it seems incredible to us that he’s still being painted as the victim in all of this.
The line, “Ondrej’s experienced enough to handle it” is a real punch to the gut for Glen Kamara and for Rangers.
It seems absolutely bizarre in this day and age that an international manager would say this and “I stand fully behind him” before the investigation has taken place into such a serious allegation.
We think it shows a real problem that UEFA need to address and how these incidents are investigated, and what happens before a verdict is reached, surely needs to be looked at.
We can only imagine how Kamara feels about how things are being portrayed.
