Hagi’s latest comments will have alarm bells ringing after Wednesday’s exit report
Ianis Hagi’s latest quotes will be worrying Rangers fans amid reports that the player wants to leave Ibrox in the summer.
On Wednesday, Italian outlet La Lazio Siamo Noi claimed Hagi is a target for Lazio and a host of Premier League clubs after a decent season with Rangers.
In an interview with the Romanian national side, where he is currently on international duty, Hagi spoke about his hopes for his future career.
He said, “Not necessarily that I won the title in Scotland means that I entered a good trajectory. The career has its pros and cons, it matters to know how to get over them, to learn from them.
“After all, everyone has their own way. I see it as a goal I wanted. I want to win more trophies, I liked the feeling, the emotion I experienced.”
Admittedly, this is a pretty rough translation but the line about entering a ‘good tractory’ could spell bad news for Rangers.
Wednesday’s report claimed that Hagi wants to ‘take off’ in a sense of leaving Ibrox and this talk of ‘trajectory’ is eerily similar.
The quotes are far from conclusive but following Wednesday’s reports, it is hard to not be a little bit concerned.
One thing that puzzles us about Hagi though, is that he is massively overrated by some.
He does still have potential and we have seen flashes of genuine quality during his time at Ibrox but is he a player who could cut it in the Premier League or at a top Italian side?
We’re not so sure.
Any club that buys Hagi, like us, are buying the potential that he holds.
We don’t want to lose him either as he is a good player for us but let’s be honest, he’s not been great at times this season.
If we received a decent fee for Hagi, would we be able to find a player who could replicate his haul of 7 goals and 13 assists in 38 appearances?
Probably.
Hopefully these rumours about Hagi are just rumours ahead of what could be a very nervy transfer window for Gers fans.
In other Rangers news, there’s been a big update on speculation linking Gerrard with Tottenham.
