Scott Brown scurries away from Celtic at first sign of trouble thanks to Rangers

It’s hilarious to see how the other half of the Old Firm has reacted to Rangers destroying their dreams of 10-in-a-row by winning the Premiership title this season.

Neil Lennon has been sacked, Celtic supporters have been climbing ladders to remove Union Flags and staging protests and now it seems even the players are starting to jump ship.

According to the Daily Record, Scott Brown has verbally agreed to become Aberdeen’s new assistant manager once Stephen Glass takes charge at Pittodrie.

It is understood that the Celtic captain will have his move to the North-East confirmed in the next 48 hours as the Parkhead meltdown continues in the wake of Rangers’ 55th title party.

Brown, somehow, won Sky Sports’ man of the match award in the Old Firm derby on Sunday while the midfielder has made 36 appearances in all competitions for the Bhoys this season.

That suggests to us that he’s still capable of playing regularly for the second-placed Premiership club despite being aged 35. That must mean that he’s walking away from Parkhead because he simply cannot take losing out to Rangers.

Celtic have dominated Scottish football since Rangers entered administration in 2012 and you would have totally expected them to do that without any real competitive rivals.

But since we’ve made our way back to the top-flight and turned a lower league team into one capable of challenging for the league, we’ve put more and more pressure on them to the point where their legends like Lennon and Brown are either being cut loose or walking away.

We knew that winning the title this season would have a massive impact in Glasgow – but we didn’t see them completely falling apart like this.

In other Rangers news, this Sky Sports journalist blasted Brown for his “laughable” comments after the Old Firm.
