Neil McCann heaps praise on Allan McGregor after MOTM display for Rangers v Celtic

Neil McCann has showered praise on Rangers goalkeeper Allan McGregor after his performance in the 1-1 draw against Celtic yesterday.

The stopper has been in sensational form this season at Ibrox, and once again made numerous saves at Parkhead to earn his side a point.

McCann labelled McGregor as his clear Man of the Match from the Old Firm clash, as he once again made a big statement with his current deal expiring soon.

Speaking on BBC Sportscene on Sunday evening, McCann was full of praise for the veteran stopper after his busy afternoon in Glasgow.

“How many times has Andy Goram broken Celtic’s hearts throughout the nineties, and Allan McGregor seems to have found that mantel.

“Some superb saves and it was a Man of the Match performance.”

Out of this world.

The fact that this has become normal and doesn’t surprise anyone just shows how brilliant McGregor has been during this incredible unbeaten run.

Having only conceded 10 goals all season, it would be easy to suggest that the keeper hasn’t had much to do, but without him, that total would easily be double, maybe even more.

Jon McLaughlin challenged that position for a couple of weeks at the start of the season, but he has been nothing short of a passenger behind the incredible McGregor for 90% of this Scottish Premiership campaign.

McGregor was already going down in Ibrox folklore before this season, but he is writing his name even deeper into the history books with each passing game.

Finally, the BBC Sportscene panel are starting to realise, the Bears are back and they are coming with a squad full of superstars; none more so than McGregor.
