Exclusive: Alex McLeish predicts Rangers v Celtic in huge Old Firm clash
We’re delighted to welcome former Rangers manager Alex McLeish as our exclusive columnist. Each week he’ll be giving his views on the biggest talking points at Ibrox…
Alex McLeish has backed Rangers to leave Parkhead with a draw when they take on Celtic in the latest instalment of the Old Firm.
The Bears make the short trip through Glasgow on Sunday afternoon looking to keep their invincibles record in-tact with not many games left to play.
McLeish believes that there is nothing to fear anymore, despite this trip in previous seasons being quite intimidating for the Gers.
Speaking exclusively to Ibrox News, McLeish said, “Celtic have got the home advantage and have picked up their results too.
“Rangers have got a confidence in that group that will go to Celtic Park, not arrogant, but with a strong positive mentality, and that’s the difference.
“The thought of going to Celtic Park has been intimidating, but now there is nothing to fear. I think a draw, I’m going to sit on the fence and say a draw.”
Anything that keeps the unbeaten run intact, we would take.
Having said that, we would love to rub the salt into the wounds of Celtic given their embarrassing statement regarding the guard of honour.
We know that the Bears will take care of their business on the pitch when it matters, and keep our class when our nearest rivals suddenly become so bitter.
McLeish is sitting on the fence, and not getting carried away on what could be one of the best days of the season at Parkhead.
