Andy Walker predicts Celtic to beat Rangers in Old Firm clash
Andy Walker has backed Celtic to end the incredible unbeaten run of Rangers in the Scottish Premiership on Sunday afternoon.
The Sky Sports pundit has predicted that the home side will win the Old Firm 1-0, bringing to an end any chances of the invincibles season for the Bears.
Steven Gerrard takes his side to Celtic Park on the back of that Europa League clash with Slavia Praha that was overshadowed by events on the pitch.
Writing in his Sky Sports prediction column, Walker believes that the Bears will crash to defeat against their “awful” rivals.
“The simple truth is that Celtic have been awful this season, have greatly underperformed and are still to lay a glove on the newly crowned Scottish Premiership champions.
“Putting an end to their unbeaten league season would be a small consolation for the hurting Celtic support but it would mean that they have at least scored against their great rivals.
“They won’t be in the least bit fazed by going to Celtic Park, their supporters know they are capable of winning anywhere. The big question is, will Rangers remain unbeaten in the league this season?”
Is this a joke?
Anyone reading this prediction will simply burst into laughter, especially with the only positive Walker points out being Odsonne Edouard for the home side.
Can the Hoops really rely on one player to halt this unstoppable Gers side in the Scottish Premiership in a season where no one has barely laid a glove on them?
Walker spends the majority of his column absolutely destroying the Hoops, but then predicts they will beat the Gers, and that doesn’t make much sense.
There won’t be any guard of honour before the clash, and Gerrard will want his side to use that pettiness as motivation to go out onto the pitch and absolutely crush their rivals.
The Bears have been untouchable this season, and another three points at Parkhead would be a phenomenal bounce back after Thursday’s events.
