Ian Durrant thrilled by Rangers midfielder Steven Davis

Ian Durrant has been thrilled by Rangers midfielder Steven Davis who has been playing “out of his skin” this season at Ibrox.

The Northern Ireland international has been everpresent in this Scottish Premiership title-winning season, covering the injuries of the influential Ryan Jack superbly.

Durrant insisted that despite being 36-years-old, the midfielder looks as well he could play on forever alongside the likes of Allan McGregor.

Speaking on the Blues Brothers podcast, Durrant singled out the veteran as one player he would love to have played alongside at Ibrox.

“I’ve been on record saying I’d love to play with Steven Davis,” he said.

“I think he just epitomises everything going on right now. He is playing out of his skin at 36-years-old, the same as McGregor.

“He looks as though he could go on forever, I would have just loved to have played one game with Steven Davis.”

Davis has been phenomenal this season.

The Bears legend made his 300th appearance for the club in January, and has made it clear that he isn’t stopping there; something that will delight Durrant.

No midfielder has made more interceptions per game in the entire squad according to WhoScored, with his busy attitude a nuisance for any opposition.

Steven Gerrard will have been wanting that one player who can hold the burden of the club in midfield, just as he did at Liverpool, and Davis has certainly stepped up.

Hopefully, Durrant’s premonition comes true and the midfielder sticks around at Ibrox to start this new run of dominance.
