Simon Jordan: Celtic should avoid Roy Keane as Rangers start to dominate

Simon Jordan has claimed that Roy Keane couldn’t save Celtic as they look for their next manager to halt Rangers’ success.

The Sky pundit and Manchester United icon has been heavily linked with the Parkhead position, but nothing concrete has been decided ahead of the Old Firm.

Neil Lennon left his post in Glasgow before the Bears sealed the Scottish Premiership title by remaining unbeaten as things stand.

Speaking on talkSPORT, Jordan claimed that Keane should stick with punditry as this is a completely different scenario with Rangers dominating.

“I think at times he’s an outstanding pundit,” he said.

“Celtic have a big job on their hands, and they need people who are capable of doing this job to bridge this gap and whether there’s an affinity or an association, it’s not the question.

“Steven Gerrard had no association with Rangers except going in there and being capable of doing the job he was tasked to do. Gerrard also had no baggage to carry.

“Celtic is a different dynamic, there’s a different expectation. I think it’s a huge risk of the Roy Keane now, I think as a football manager, he’s done.”

Sit back and laugh.

This is brilliant, and we can’t help but think that Celtic could be set to make a massive mistake in their next appointment in order to catch the Bears.

Steven Gerrard’s appointment was for the best interest of our club, but the difference with Celtic is that they have the Light Blues in mind no matter what they are doing.

We welcome Keane to attempt to break this Gers dominance, after all, he hasn’t got the best of records in management and hasn’t been there in years.

Gerrard has built this up from the bottom up, and it’s going to take a lot more than a fresh appointment to disturb this upwards trajectory.
