Nicola Sturgeon responds to statements released by Rangers & Celtic ahead of Old Firm

Nicola Sturgeon has responded to the statements released by Rangers and Celtic ahead of this weeks’ Old Firm clash on Sunday afternoon.

There have been serious doubts surrounding the fixture after thousands of Bears gathered outside Ibrox after the Scottish Premiership was sealed last week.

The Scottish First Minister thanked the two clubs but insisted that they must continue to send warnings, and make sure that this isn’t their only move.

Rangers

Speaking as shared by the Glasgow Times, Sturgeon claimed that no final decisions have been made as things stand ahead of the Old Firm.

“No final decision has been made yet,” she said.

“I welcome the statements made by both Rangers and Celtic. Of course, it was Rangers fans who were gathering a week ago.

“I hope the clubs will continue that over the next couple of days. It can’t just be one statement and then it’s done. As we know, from our experience of the last year, these communications are really important on an ongoing basis.”

Rangers

This has to stop.

Rangers fans had their fun after the title celebrations and got them out of the way, and Sturgeon is fearing the worst on every single occasion.

The Bears have a massive week ahead of them, with Slavia Praha in the Europa League before the Old Firm clash at Parkhead.

Sturgeon slammed the Gers for their response to the crowds outside Ibrox, despite the authorities being warned – all these statements do is make it clear that they have been warned.

We have had our fun, and there will be more pleasure taken from crushing Celtic on the pitch rather than gathering outside Parkhead after the game and causing carnage.
