Alan Brazil: Rangers fans have lost it – this season was a one-off
Alan Brazil has slammed suggestions that Rangers are now the dominant force in Scotland and labelled this season as a ‘one-off’.
It has been an absolute procession for Steven Gerrard and his side this season with early confirmation of No.55 achieved in March to embarrass their rivals ahead of this Sunday’s Old Firm clash.
Speaking on talkSPORT breakfast [06:00, 15/03/21] the Celtic-mad pundit hit back at what he deems to be over-exuberance from the Gers section of Glasgow.
He said: “You say they [Celtic] need a kick up the backside, this gets me, I’ve had so many Rangers supporters going mad.
“Alright you’ve won one in 10, Celtic have won the league the last nine years. They have been poor but it’s a one-off, Celtic can come back strong.”
Collect the tears
They’ve absolutely cracked over there, they just can’t admit the error of their ways.
If Brazil cannot see there are currently many mountains between the Old Firm pair then he is in for a rude awakening next season.
Should Celtic fail to regroup and significantly add to their squad they will continue to be left in the dust by this revitalised Rangers side starring under the stewardship of Gerrard and co.
Don’t take our word for it – look at the Premiership table and you will see a mammoth 20 point gap.
Plus we are gearing up for a huge game on Thursday that could see us progress to the quarter-final of the Europa League while our Old Firm rivals sit at home sipping their medicine after being unceremoniously dumped out at the group stage over three months ago.
It’s about time Brazil gets it in his head – we’re not the ‘mad’ ones, you are.
Your club might have endured a good run off the back of our unfortunate demise and slide down the leagues but it has been proven that once back in shape we are the superior side and that has been shown in abundance this season.
