Andy Walker: Aribo and Kamara could be worth a lot of money after impressing in Europe
Andy Walker believes the signings of Joe Aribo and Glen Kamara were two brilliant deals for Rangers.
The pair arrived on the cheap and Walker now thinks their value will have increased significantly.
He points to their performances in the Europa League as a key reason for that, suggesting their reputations have grown during their time with the Gers.
Speaking on the Sky Sports Scottish Football Podcast, Walker, said, “You look at Rangers and it tells you that you can do good business, you know Joe Aribo a development free from Charlton that’s really good business.
“Glen Kamara £50k from Dundee that’s really good business.
“How much are they worth? How much are they growing in stature and reputation playing on this European stage?”
Transfer strategy
The additions of Joe Aribo and Glen Kamara are proving more and more inspired with each match they play.
Both have been vital to our success this season and will help to keep us on track when Steven Davis leaves.
That is if they stay, something which is not a guarantee due to their good form this season.
We are keen for them both to stay but should a big bid come in it may be the right time to let them leave.
A big budget would allow Gers to build up the squad depth ahead of the Champions League next season, while also reinvesting in young players.
Signing players for cheap and selling them for profit is a good business model even if supporters would be sad to see key players leave.
Fortunately, both players seem happy at Ibrox and there have been no murmurings hinting at a possible exit, unlike Alfredo Morelos, who told Colombian radio he would jump at a move to the Premier League.
Aribo and Kamara should be with us next season, so we are looking forward to seeing them grow and improve with us even more.
In other Rangers news, Kris Boyd is impressed with one Ger he claims is ‘playing with a lot of fear’.
