Dick Advocaat: Rangers looking “very good” to get result v Slavia Prague
Dick Advocaat and Simon Jordan have both said that Rangers will get a result when they travel to Slavia Prague tonight.
Former Gers manager Advocaat said that while the match will be difficult, it looks “very good” for Rangers.
Jordan said that Rangers would probably get a result as they’re in “good nick” at the moment. He added that he wants Rangers to go deep in the Europa League.
Both were talking on the White & Jordan Show (talkSPORT, Thursday, 11am) ahead of the 6pm kick-off in the Czech Republic.
“Slavia Prague did really well in the previous round so it will be difficult. The away leg will be difficult,” said Advocaat.
“But they’re a very steady team Rangers, hard-working players, good individuals, so it looks very good.”
Jim White said to Jordan, “Advocaat thinks Rangers can do something against Slavia Prague.”
“I think Rangers are a very competent side,” Jordan replied. “I was being facetious when I said Slavia Prague would probably get a result, they probably won’t as Rangers are in very good nick.
“It will be interesting to see how far they go in this competition as it bears out the philosophy of Gerrard being someone to be reckoned with.
“I’d like Rangers to do well in this compo, go even deeper than they are now. Go deeper.”
Huge games upcoming
Michael Owen thinks that Rangers will come back from the Czech Republic tonight with a draw. It’s a common view and it shows how far Rangers have come this season.
A draw would give them a very solid platform for next week’s game at Ibrox and a whole week to prepare for it.
They’re all big games from now on, though, and the next few weeks will really define just how great this season is going to be.
First, the two games against Slavia Prague, followed by the Old Firm clash at Celtic.
Gers will go onto the Parkhead pitch as champions and that will give them a big boost to get another win over their rivals.
Can we go through the Premiership season unbeaten? There’s no reason why not, now.
Can we win the Europa League? We’ll take that one round at a time, starting tonight.
