Rangers have been given everything they need to beat Slavia Prague

Rangers face a massive night in the Europa League on Thursday as they travel to the Czech Republic to face Slavia Prague.

Despite this being a Europa League last 16 game, the Gers should breeze past their opponents if recent events are anything to go by.

Slavia may be top of the Czech first division but more than one cautionary glance towards their squad shows there is plenty of drama going on behind the scenes.

A few weeks ago, Slavia’s manager made headlines when he kicked a hole through a changing room door with a member of Slavia’s staff sharing the bizarre story on Twitter.

The boss was furious with his side’s performance as they narrowly won and this can only bode well for Rangers.

Similarly, Slavia captain Jan Boril ripped into his teammates for their poor second-half performance last weekend.

Czech outlet iDNES quote Boril as saying, “For God’s sake, we managed it, three points are at home, but the other half is a big warning.”

These quotes don’t sound like they’re coming from a harmonious dressing room as it seems as if Slavia’s squad is on the brink of imploding.

Rangers

Rangers have a completely different atmosphere around their squad after winning 55 at the weekend.

We have also come off the back of yet another league game where we’ve scored three goals and kept a clean sheet.

We’re in the best form we’ve ever been in under Steven Gerrard and with the positive atmosphere among the fanbase, there is almost an expectation that we should blow Slavia away on Thursday.

A loss would bring us all right back down to earth but it is hard to see anything other than a Rangers win.

Slavia have a boss who has been taking his frustration out on inanimate objects while the club captain has had a go at all of his teammates.

Meanwhile, most of our squad are wrapping their heads around the fact that they’ve become legends for a massive club.

Rangers

This is the concerning thing as there is the expectation that we should beat Slavia on Thursday and not only that… we need to.

Everything is in our favour over both legs as Slavia look, at least from the outside, to be in a bit of mess.

There is simply no excuse for not winning both legs.

In other Rangers news, The Athletic has shared behind the scenes information about the wholesale changes Gerrard made in his early days at Rangers.
