Predicted XI: Balogun and Arfield recalled in two changes for Rangers vs Slavia Prague

Rangers are hot off the back of clinching the title at the weekend but they have another huge game against Slavia Prague this week.

Steven Gerrard must prepare the boys in the right manner for such a big game.

He must also make changes to the side that comfortably dispatched St Mirren 3-0.

The Gers fielded a full-strength team on Saturday and after a long and arduous season, some players are likely starting to feel fatigued.

Freshening things up by recalling Leon Balogun and Scott Arfield to the starting line-up may be a recipe for success.

We think Gerrard will prefer to go with experience as he did in the last round.

That means right-back Nathan Patterson and attacker Ianis Hagi could drop out, even though the latter bagged a goal at the weekend.

Rangers

It is vital the Gers keep their composure in Thursday’s game.

We need our senior players to step up and keep the team level-headed following the celebrations at the weekend.

The Europa League presents another prize on the horizon and by packing the starting eleven with experience we should get a result.

Bringing back Balogun should also make us more resolute at the back.

Scoring an away goal and avoiding defeat is the target but that may only be possible if we keep a clean sheet.

Arfield operating in midfield should also make the team more solid as he has 2.1 tackles and 1.3 interceptions per game in Europe (WhoScored).

His presence also allows Joe Aribo freedom to attack from the wing.

Aribo is a lot more threatening from that positioning as he proved against Royal Antwerp.

The rest of the team takes care of itself as the likes of Ryan Kent and Alfredo Morelos are in a rich vein of form.

Steven Davis and Conor Goldson have also not put a foot wrong in recent weeks so we are more than confident of bringing back a positive result from the Czech capital.

In other Rangers news, John Hartson has proved how bitter he is with an audacious claim about the Gers.
