Calvin Bassey’s brother has Rangers trial
Calvin Bassey’s younger brother has recently had a trial at Rangers, according to The Athletic journalist Jordan Campbell.
Writing on The Athletic’s website, Campbell has reported that Rangers have built a cage at Auchenhowie to help with cage football a growing influence on players at Ibrox.
It is understood the Gers are in talks over a partnership with the London-based Kinetic Academy, which brought through the likes of Joe Aribo and Josh Maja.
Harry Hudson founded Kinetic and has previously coached Gers youngsters Nathan Young-Coombes and Malcolm Ebiowei.
Bassey’s younger brother – who unfortunately is not named by Campbell – was full-time at Kinetic and has recently headed to Glasgow for a trial with the Premiership champions.
The future is bright
It seems that winning the league and qualifying for the Champions League can open up a whole new world for a team like Rangers.
In the past, players and academies might have been put off by linking up with the Gers due to the turmoil off the pitch and struggling performances on it.
But with Steven Gerrard in charge and a board in place that seems to know what they’re doing, academies like Kinetic are more willing to strike up deals with the Premiership champions.
Of course, it remains to be seen how this pans out but it cannot be a bad thing.
As for Bassey’s younger brother, we haven’t been able to find out anything about him, even his first name eludes us, let alone his position and age.
However, as he’s been at the Kinetic academy, you can imagine that he’d quite a talented young player given the players that have come through there in recent years.
In other Rangers news, this SNP politician has shown his true colours by spewing Gers vitriol on Twitter.
