Adrian Durham destroys entire Celtic XI, 11 Gers stars in team of season

Adrian Durham has just absolutely destroyed the Celtic side in a devastating Team of the Season segment on talkSPORT (Wednesday, 4.30pm) that contains XI Rangers stars.

If you haven’t heard it yet, check the replay when the Drive show goes off the air at 7pm.

We’ve never heard a Celtic side get demolished in such an exacting way before.

Here are some selected highlights…

“Shane Duffy, now in the interests of live comedy shows, Shane Duffy draining a huge wage from Celtic and being absolutely terrible has been hilarious,” Durham said.

“They thought he’d be the long-term replacement for Virgil van Dijk, he’s played more like Dick Van Dijk, absolutely useless.

“Kristoffer Ajer, used to be good, he’s been Lennoned this year, lost the plot, should be at a much better team like Rangers.

“Scott Brown, oh please, oh please. You know that phrase ‘captain, leader, legend’, none of that applies to Scott Brown, another one treated like a legend whose Celtic career will be remembered for being by the pool in Dubai while Rangers ran away with it. He was only good when Rangers weren’t around.

“Ryan Christie, decent but he’d be a ball boy at Rangers.

“Callum McGregor, now he might be in the Rangers matchday squad, he might make the bench.

“Elyounoussi one goal in 14 since Boxing Day, pathetic, he’s on the Lennon banter bus with Scott Brown and Shane Duffy.

“Odsonne Edouard dreams of being Alfredo Morelos. Not one Celtic player is worthy.”

Durham then reeled off his Scottish Premiership team of the season:

“McGregor, Tavernier, Goldson, Helander, Barisic, Kamara, Davis, Aribo, Hagi, Kent, Morelos, manager Gerrard.”

Rangers

Conquering heroes

This is amazing stuff.

Durham’s delivery is as good as any stand-up we’ve heard and while it’s hilarious, it’s also very accurate.

Gerrard has taken Rangers to a completely different level this season and left Celtic so far behind they might as well be in a different division.

This will be very tough listening for Celtic fans who had such high hopes for this season.

And Rangers haven’t finished yet. Next up is a trip to Slavia Prague where we can take a huge step towards qualifying for the quarter-finals of the Europa League.

This tie won’t be easy. Slavia Prague have already knocked out Premier League high-flyers Leicester but these are the sides we need to beat if we want to get into Europe’s elite.

If Gers can get into the final eight of the second biggest European competition, everyone is going to have to sit up and take notice.
