SNP politician James Dornan blasts Rangers fans
SNP politician James Dornan is furious with Rangers fans who celebrated their team’s title victory in their masses at the weekend.
Supporters packed George Square and Edmiston Drive, as well as other areas of Glasgow, to celebrate after the Gers won their 55th title courtesy of Celtic’s failure to beat Dundee United on Sunday.
However, celebrations have not gone down well among Scotland’s politicians and Dornan has definitely shown his colours with a swipe at Rangers for their financial demise in 2012 as well as condemning the actions of fans in recent days.
“I don’t see why you’d cut them slack in the middle of a pandemic,” said Dornan via his personal Twitter account on Monday night after Times journalist Graham Spiers admitted he understood why there was such a big reaction to the title win.
“I’m also at a loss as to the anger and bitterness when it was their club’s actions that led to their own woes.
“It’s a typical sense of entitlement from football fans that is going to cost us all dearly.”
Dornan seems to hate football fans and, in particular, hate Rangers.
No matter whose fault administration was, should the fans really be hiding their delight at winning a title because of that? What’s it got to do with anything?
Everyone who was complicit in sending Rangers into the financial abyss at the start of the late decade is no longer at Ibrox. Why mute celebrations now for the sake of what happened almost 10 years ago?
Why not pay tribute to Dave King, Douglas Park, Ross Wilson, Steven Gerrard and the players when they had nothing to do with what happened in the past?
Dornan clearly has it in for Rangers and couldn’t wait to take to social media to spew his vitriol.
But we’re not going to get too angry about it.
We’re champions and we’re loving every second of it, no matter what anyone says.
