Piers Morgan claims Steven Gerrard is the ‘real deal’ as a manager after securing a historic 55th Scottish league title for Rangers.
The Gers needed Celtic to drop points against Dundee United on Sunday to win the league and the Hoops obliged by playing out a dull 0-0 draw.
With the league wrapped up, Good Morning Britain host Morgan was full of praise for Gerrard and compared his successful playing career to his blossoming managerial career.
Morgan tweeted, “Congrats to Steven Gerrard on winning the League with Rangers in Scotland & ending a decade of Celtic dominance.
“He was the real deal as a player and looks the real deal as a manager too.”
He certainly does look the real deal.
How can you doubt Gerrard’s managerial ability after his achievements not only this season but during his short Ibrox career?
He’s played a bigger role than most in ending Celtic’s dominance and he deserves all of the praise that comes his way over the coming days.
There were questions raised when Stevie G was appointed and it is fair to say he has answered those questions and then some.
An unbeaten season is on the cards and we have every chance of advancing to the latter stages of the Europa League.
Gerrard’s signings have been largely brilliant, his use of the youth players has been exceptional and the belief he has brought to a club that was lost has been nothing short of inspiring.
He has secured immortality at Ibrox and he still has the chance to enhance that reputation even further over the next few years.
