Popstar James Arthur sent a message to Rangers during their 3-0 win over St Mirren on Saturday afternoon as the Gers placed one hand of the Scottish Premiership trophy.

Arthur and his Dad are both Rangers fans despite him being born in Middlesbrough and he trained at the club in 2014.

Rangers tweeted out the score at half time during Saturday’s game and Arthur showed his true colours with his response.

He tweeted, “Simply the best”, and there is no doubting the truth of that statement.

The song ‘Simply the Best’ was played by fans outside Ibrox before Saturday’s game and Arthur clearly couldn’t help himself from referencing the lyrics as he praised the club.

Goals from Ryan Kent, Alfredo Morelos and Ianis Hagi secured a 3-0 win over St Mirren with just one more point needed to clinch the title.

Putting it plainly, we simply are the best and better than all the rest.

We’re sure Tina Turner wasn’t singing about Rangers when she wrote that hit song but those words have never been more appropriate.

We’ve blown away the champions of the last nine campaigns and by some measure too.

It will really be confirmed in the near future when there is confirmation of that title win but we don’t need that silverware to prove how good we are.

We’re the best team in Scotland, there is no debate there. But due to our European exploits, we could be one of the best sides in the UK.

It feels like the sky is the limit here at Ibrox with Steven Gerrard in charge and our boss and those players are… simply the best.

In other Rangers news, Sky Sports have shared some incredible footage of Rangers fans and players after the full-time whistle against St Mirren.
