Andy Walker has backed Rangers to crush St. Mirren in their Scottish Premiership clash at Ibrox on Saturday afternoon.
The Sky Sports pundit has predicted that the Bears will win 4-0, as they charge towards title number 55 in Glasgow this season.
St. Mirren are the only side to beat the Gers in all competitions this season, and there will extra motivation for the Light Blues to do the business.
Writing in his Sky Sports predictions column, Walker also dissected who could win the Player of the Year award at Auchenhowie.
“A maximum of four points now is all that is required for Steven Gerrard to secure his first trophy as Rangers manager,” he said.
“Yet again, Alfredo Morelos was the matchwinner in midweek against Livingston but you’d be hard pushed to name an undisputed player of the season at Ibrox.
“From the goalkeeper Alan McGregor to James Tavernier, Conor Goldson, Steve Davis, Glen Kamara, Joe Aribo and Ryan Kent, the list is endless as to how consistent this team has been.
“Unbelievably, St Mirren are the only side to date who have beaten the champions-elect but it’s equally remarkable that Rangers have taken maximum points at Ibrox in every league game this season.”
Steven Gerrard insisted that he would love to get the title wrapped up quickly, but isn’t too bothered when it arrives at Ibrox; it is already in the bag.
St. Mirren have only won one of their previous six outings in the Scottish Premiership, although it was their last game against Ross County.
Jim Goodwin’s side had everything go their way that night they knocked the Bears out of the Scottish League Cup, but a trip to Ibrox is different, and they will find that out the hard way this weekend.
As Walker mentioned, the Gers haven’t dropped a single point at Ibrox this season, and that fortress is going to stay intact for a long time; this season at a minimum.
The Player of the Year award? Give it to the whole squad, they’ve been perfect.
