Jim White and Simon Jordan argue over Steven Gerrard’s future

Jim White and Simon Jordan clashed when discussing the future of Rangers boss Steven Gerrard on Thursday.

Gerrard looks set to land title number 55 for the Gers and that is likely to add fuel to the rumours that he could leave.

Liverpool has always been mooted as a destination and their dip in form mean’s Jurgen Klopp is less secure than he was previously [Mirror].

On their talkSPORT show, White and Jordan could not come to an agreement on the topic.

“Rangers will be a stepping stone for Steven Gerrard,” said Jordan, before being interrupted by White.

The host replied, “You know what, whenever that subject’s brought up Steven Gerrard always says ‘sorry no, you’re wrong, this job is everything to me’.

Jordan was not having any of that though and posed a question to White that left the Rangers fan a little too quiet.

“Well of course, so he should do whilst he’s doing this job,” said Jordan in response.

“Let’s have it right Jurgen Klopp leaves Liverpool next month and Gerrard’s offered the job and he’s going to turn round and say no I’m staying at Rangers?

“He’ll be out of the door quicker than a quick thing from quick land.”

White knows best

There are too many pundits who think Gerrard is dead set on Liverpool.

They ignore the fact that he is loving life at Ibrox and why would he want to leave when he has been so successful?

Winning the title after nine years will make him a cult hero, and there is also a European journey to keep an eye on.

Stevie G has established us in the Europa League both last year and this season, and we will also have a shot at the Champions League next term.

Any manager would jump at the opportunity to test himself against the elite European sides, and now Gerrard has that chance.

He is clearly passionate about the project here – just look at his half-time reaction in the Livingston game on Wednesday.

We agree with White’s stance in the debate and are growing a bit tired of all the talk linking him to Liverpool.
