Alex Rae is backing Alfredo Morelos to continue his fine personal form when Rangers take on Livingston on Wednesday evening.

Morelos has picked up two goals and seven assists in his last three outings for the Gers in all competitions and Rae reckons he’ll shine again at the Tony Macaroni Arena.

Livingston will be looking to cause an upset after losing their cup final at the weekend but the Gers are undoubtedly favourites in the mind of Rae.

He told @RangersPicks on Twitter, “I fancy them strongly on Wednesday because of their away form, they’re top of the form chart.

“They had the weekend off and I expect them to come out flying on Wednesday.

“I think Alfie [Morelos] will most certainly pick up an assist, when you look at the last few games he’s had numerous assists so he’s the guy in form.”

Morelos is certainly the man in form at the moment and he could probably get a decent result against Livi on his own.

If the Gers win tonight then the league could be wrapped up at the weekend if Celtic drop points.

That should be motivation enough for Rangers but we need to avoid mistakes made in our last league game.

We started very slowly and it took Joe Aribo grabbing the game by the scruff of the neck for us to really get going and put Dundee United to the sword.

Livingston present a similar challenge and tonight we won’t have the luxury of home advantage to fall back on.

One thing is for sure, if Morelos is on form then we have every chance of picking up a heavy win and it could be a vital one with 55 tantalisingly close.
